[ Well, alright. Sunny is just going to close his laptop and finally slide out of bed, heading to the bathroom as if he were back home, still. Something hasn't appeared since his transformation, but he still feels a little funny looking in the mirror at himself. The ears and eye coloration still seem so new to him, not to mention the claws which made typing a little difficult. He watches his reflection for awhile until he decides to brush his teeth (good job!) and waits for Shoyo to come through the door. ]
shoyo is, well. easy to hear. especially when he’s started to wear new ear plugs and can’t really hear himself beyond a few dampened thuds. it helps with the skittishness but doesn’t exactly get rid of it— something that moves too fast in his peripheral vision usually gets him to jump and bolt.
which is probably still less than sound and sight stacked on top of each other.
the staircase from below goes phwupphwupphwuphwup until the door clicks open surprisingly slow. because shoyo has his hands full. oh, wait it’s not in his hands, but . . . a bulge under his shirt he’s cradling close to where his stomach is. ]
Sunny?
[ loudly said, maybe, because he can’t hear how high his voice actually is, but he’s quite proud and puffed up like a baby bird as he closes the door behind him with his foot. ]
[ Sunny also has sensitive hearing and is a bit jumpy himself and he has yet to tell Shoyo that his voice is Truly Suffering to deal with and he already knows the other boy is making his way to the door long before it happens. Still, Sunny watched his reflection, not quite identifying with it.
But that’s nothing new.
The door opens and Sunny shuffles out of the bathroom, keeping his distance and looking at Shoyo from where he’s at… then the round part of his shirt. ]
[ once indoors, he can take off the plugs with a single hand and pop them into his pocket, so at least sunny does not need to Suffer the entire time the human tangerine is home. hearing himself helps in speaking quietly and manageably, especially to make sure he doesn’t startle with his own energy. shoyo, quiet? it’s likely now that noise scares him just as much as his shadow if he doesn’t see it beforehand. ]
So it’s a surprise—!
[ he pulls out the bundle at last to reveal . . . a little actual frosting capped cake puppy that is the sleepiest thing in existence. shoyo’s belly and chest are probably smeared with sticky sugar bits. but that’s okay! ]
[ Sunny’s dark eyes grow at the sight of the new puppy. So adorable. A literal pupcake! Sunny slowly shuffles forward and leans down to look at Mochi right in the eyes.
His voice is just above a whisper. ]
Mochi-chan… You are so cute.
[ he even dips down and gives it a little kissy on the head… does he end up with frosting on his face??? Maybe?? ]
[ stop it!!! you’re cute!!! a kdhsjd h shoyo was not expecting the softest of chu’s on mochi’s little frosting head and she’s just so sleepy and yawning wide and . . . !!!
ah. the feeling. the feeling that something is so cute you just want to SQUEEZE but you can’t, so— shoyo makes do with an actual vibration, from head to toe. check out his incoming voice call cosplay. ]

[ shoyo points to Sunny’s mouth. can they . . . eat the frosting? ]
[ Oh. He hadn’t thought of the possibility of getting frosting on his face since.. frosting is apart of her? But um.. naturally it happens and Sunny crosses his eyes slightly and.. you know what? Yolo.
He runs his tongue over the little frosting dribble and looks at Shoyo with starry eyes. ]
[ YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO he can’t handle this. the stars in his eyes double. he holds mochi up like simba and just makes a sound while the pup simply looks too sleepy. ]
Hnnnngg . . . ! Mochi-Chan is too cute! [ sunny is cute but shoyo’s just dumb ] Wanna hold her? I’m gonna give her a kiss next!
[ they are just low key eating their dog. it’s fine. ]
[ Despite being more of a day person, Sunny likes all animals, honestly. His rabbit ears twitch a little as his eyes follow Mochi being lifted high in all of her glory.. and nods. Once he is given the dog, he holds her carefully, also makes sure he doesn’t get anymore frosting on him. ]
[ if only he still had his phone—!! this would make a terrific selfie! he should get a camera sometime!! new memories and such! but now that mochi is secured in sunny’s arms, it’s time for him to give it a go! an awkward, puckered up chu on the pup’s frosting face. when shoyo lifts his head back up he’s got a brand new mustache. ]

Mister Sparkling said she’s going to taste like whatever we feed her, so . . . What should we feed her?
[ Sunny watches the ginger as he leans in and down to the cute and sleepy puppy, the edges of his lips turning upward so very slightly. He blinks at what Shoyo has to say, remembering he met Sparkling before at the graveyard. So this guy is the person who gave Shoyo this puppy, huh? Interesting. Their puppy is kind of unique looking, isn’t it? ]
Maybe chocolate? Oh.. can she eat chocolate? Usually dogs can’t.
[ at least sparkling said so....... he's got a little bag of something in his back pocket! before going there, shoyo airs out any frosting still stuck to the inside of his shirt, before presenting a little bag of pure, crystalized sugar. ]
He said she should eat this first. [ oh, and, ] Wanna sit?
[ At the invitation to sit, Sunny nods, wasting no time to shuffle into the living area and sit with the new puppy. Instantly, he curls up and puts his head on the sofa’s arm rest, now in a lying position… eepy boy.
He keeps the new puppy close and secure near his tummy, spine curled as if he is slowly transitioning into a fetal position.
[ sunny is creetur. not far behind him, shoyo sits himself down, well, not on the sofa next to sunny, but on the floor right in front of mochi and the other boy. there’s more space this way, setting his knees at the couch’s edge and, once generously offering sunny the sugar pack in question, holds onto the edge of the furniture until he’s hanging all ten fingers off the cushions to just . . . eyeball!!! with the most starry eyed look one could give!
[ That question.. the talk of pictures. It bubbles up some kind of feeling within Sunny. At first, it's a pleasant feeling. He's very nostalgic and loves pictures. In fact, someone very important to him loves taking pictures, but the more he thinks about it, the more he feels his stomach twist into an uncomfortable feeling. He had seen in his Headspace some frightening images-- shadows of his past-- things he has blocked out. A glimpse of the things he has repressed.
Shoyo will see a physical response; his expression twisting to something fearful. It's slight, but with how Shoyo is looking at him, he probably notices something is amiss when it comes to "pictures." ]
I, um . . . [ and he’ll does he see it. he’s an emotionally perceptive little guy. he even falters in his own train of thought, wondering what it was that he’s done or said wrong. “pictures” changed everything, and shoyo can pinpoint the moment like he’d search for clues on the court. ] Just thought it’d be, like . . . Neat, to take some selfies together.
[ How to explain this... Sunny fidgets slightly, turning his head away from Shoyo and kind of just.. pressing it into the sofa while he idly holds the sugar packet.
He doesn't really know what to say, exactly. Pictures remind him of good things but also bad things. ]

[ Which isn't a lie, but the more he thinks about it.. Shoyo has been such a good friend already. It only makes sense they take pictures together. He peers up from having his face smushed in the couch. ]
[ ah . . . a shimmer in the dark! shoyo relaxes his shoulders into a little relieved slump, then lowering his chin to the couch in front of mochi, which might have been facing sunny’s stomach, too. he’s got his eyes between them and feels his smile coming back. ]
Well— if you’re sure! I’ll save up for a camera. [ speaking of liking things . . . shoyo now scoots an inch upwards, his chin still pressed against the edge of the couch. ] What else do you like?
[ He never understood why people took an interest to him. It’s not like he talked much or had anything interesting about him. But there were people like Kel and the rest they shoved themselves into his life and made an attempt to be his friend.
He’s just awkward when it comes to stuff like this, especially since he hasn’t been out of the house in awhile. ]

[ cardboard boxes are a game changer. shoyo bends his knees to his chest and hides half his face on the couch’s edge. it’s something he kind of . . . does with his little sister? and goes to show just how much of a child he still is. ]
[ bro you okay there..... Sunny feels a little embarrassed when Shoyo asks for clarification, realizing that it probably is a pretty childish thing to enjoy for a whole-grown-ass-16 year old, but! He's always liked that; little cubby holes of solitude that provide comfort for him. ]

[ Reluctantly, after shifting his gaze for a moment, he looks back at Shoyo and nods shyly. ]
[ Sunny feels his body tense up when Shoyo clasps him and he sucks in a breath, holding it. He's going to have to get used to people like this again, because although Shoyo acts A LOT like Kel, he hasn't seen Kel in so long.. so.. it's almost like he has to learn how to deal with someone like this again.
After a moment, though, Sunny can feel his lips wobble into a awkward looking smile. He's.. silently thankful that Shoyo isn't judging him for his childish interest.]
